Professor Rushford holds a doctorate from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in European history. Though his specific field is in the social and cultural history of the early modern period, Dr. Rushford has taught classes on a variety of topics across the breadth of European history. Professor Rushford teaches Western Civilization and advanced classes in the area of the Renaissance and Reformation in European history

His current work at a Projector Editor at GMU's CHNM has built upon a long standing interest in the application of digital tools to History scholarship and work.
